Cost Accountant

Site: FL - Apopka Business Title: Cost Accountant Cost Accountant Finance | Apopka, FL, We are searching for a Cost Accountant/Analyst who will support our Florida and Costa Rica manufacturing operations. This position is in a prominent division of a rapidly growing semiconductor company that is gaining share in all markets. The individual will reports to Cost Accounting manager. Key responsibilities include: 1.Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs and to determine costs of products. 2.Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports comparing standard to actual production costs 3.Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services 4.Compare budget/standard to actual expense, analyze variances and report out on an as needed basis 5.Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor and indirect costs. Analyze data and track results 6.Work as a business partner cross-organizationally and across geographies to drive profit improvement initiatives 7.Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to support closing process. 8.Work with internal and external audit as needed Qualifications: •least 3 years' experience in financial analysis •At least 3 years’ experience in cost accounting including standard costing •Experience in high volume manufacturing desired •College degree with focus in finance or accounting •SAP experience preferable •Advanced MS Office skills required •Ability to work effectively across diverse groups (operations, business units, geographies) •Highly self-motivated, flexible to manage shifting priorities, thrive in a fast paced environment •Good problem solving skills and tools. Must be able to distill complex problems into manageable tasks, and then lead or be a team player in the problem solving process •Occasional travel, overtime required during certain cycles. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit in front of a computer terminal for much of the work day
